Constructed a new access road to the raw-water intake pump station at the river dam, and installed four generators totaling 11.5 MW to power the intake — for AAA's (PRASA) Enrique Ortega Water Treatment Plant.
The Enrique Ortega Water Treatment Plant supplies potable water to more than 100,000 residential and commercial customers across northern Puerto Rico. Maintaining continuous operation during power outages is critical to protecting water service for the surrounding communities.
To improve the facility's resilience, the project included the installation of approximately 11.5 megawatts of emergency power generation, providing backup power for the plant's raw water intake pumping station.
The infrastructure was designed to improve operational continuity, reduce vulnerability to electrical interruptions, and strengthen one of Puerto Rico's most critical public utility systems.
